I wanted a well-made, compact and reliable camera, that would produce decent photos - and at a good price. Not a lot to ask, you may say! I've now had this Samsung camera for a few months and I can honestly say that the quality of the photos it produces are excellent - every bit as good as the (much more expensive) Pansonic Lumix FZ7 camera that I also own. I've always found Samsung products to be exceptionally reliable - and this camera certainly hasn't put a foot wrong. I'd recommend that you invest in some good quality rechargeable AA batteries - a much better option than the standard type, and you'll need something like a 2 or 4GB SD memory card. Both of these things are worth the investment to go with the camera.

I think that this camera is a superb example of modern technology.The on screen directions once understood are user friendly and the camera takes clear bright pictures and videos and is easy to use (I need Easy)mainly point and shoot. The only downfall I have come across is using the viewing screen when in sunny conditions - the brightness makes it nearly impossible. I get round this by just pointing at the subject and so far I have been ok.
I certainly do not regret the purchase.

We bought this for my 11 year old son for his birthday. Its great. For him, its a nice weight and size. Takes lovely photos. He has picked up really quickly how to work it all, much quicker than me. The only problem we had was with the actual downloads of the pictures onto the pc. Once we put the correct cable in (we have several very similar cables!!) the pc recognized the camera as an extra storage device, rather than a camera. We eventually sussed this out and from there managed to download the photos, but it wasn't as straightforward as our other camera. Apart from that little hitch, we are happy with this camera and would recommend it as a starter for any budding new photographer.

Fits in just about every bag, easy to use (not much options though), good quality images. For such a low price it's pretty much golden.
