For this impressively low price, this is surely one of the best cameras you can get.
It's cute, compact and chunky, and although it's not super slim like some pricier models, it will still slide into a jeans pocket or coat pocket without much of a problem. Being available in three colours is great for us girls too!
Picture quality is good though admittedly not excellent, but again for the price it is more than reasonable. The quality is absolutely fine for blowing up to around A4 size, though if you want poster sized prints you will need more mega pixels.
The zoom is not very powerful but at least there is an optical zoom, unlike some cameras in this price range which only have digital!
The fact that this can be charged from the mains or from the computer/laptop makes it convenient and much better than those cameras which take AA batteries, which you will find with a lot of the cheaper models.
Basically this isn't going to give you professional results but for an easy to use camera for young people or beginners, you can't complain about this.

Last Christmas I bought a Vivitar camera for my 11 year old grandson but since then he has been casting envious glances at his brothers' more sophisticated cameras so this year I have chosen the Samsung ES55 which seems to press all the buttons he wants - hopefully on Christmas Day it will be put to good use and for a long time afterwards.

I bought this camera for my 13 year old daughter to take on her school French trip this summer. She was extremely pleased with it as it uses a usb charging lead (supplied) which means she can charge it from the pc while browsing pictures. The pictures are great quality but, as with many of this type of camera, there is a downside.
While reviewing some of the picture she had taken she accidentally dropped it on the floor and as the lens doesn't retract in preview mode it is now useless as the lens is 'stuck' and out of focus. I have a Panasonic TZ7, but when reviewing pictures the lens retracts so if it was dropped the damage would be far less.
Manufacturers please take note, its not rocket science to accommodate this feature and would save having to throw away an otherwise perfectly good camera.

Sorry that there was not a good set of instructions with the camera had to go on line to get the full details. Otherwise this was a good camera easy to use and all the functions needed for taking good photos

I will never use this company to order again! I had to do all the chasing only to find BOTH cameras ordered had been damaged en route and they had no stock left! Very quick to take the money out of my account only put the money back once I had made contact after 3 weeks!! Not uncommon according to their website! Two VERY unhappy children!
