Samsung Unveils 10 Mega-Pixel DSC With High-Definition Video Capability
Samsung today introduced the NV24 HD - a 10 mega-pixel point and-shoot digital camera capable of shoot high-definition video. Additionally, with measurements of 3.8" x 2.4" x 0.7", the NV24HD hits the mark as the world's smallest, 24mm ultra wide angle, 10 mega pixel digital camera. The flagship model of Samsung's revolutionary and award-winning NV Series, the NV24 HD is the ideal digital camera to compliment the high-definition lifestyle of today's tech savvy consumer.
The NV24 HD gives shooters the ability to record video in 720p high-definition at a maximum frame rate of 30fps. Shooters can also take advantage of a movie stabilizer and optical zoom while recording video and with Samsung's Successive Recording mode, can pause, and then resume filming without having to save the clips as individual files. Additionally, the NV24 HD utilizes H.264 compression, a codec for high definition video that has become an industry standard. To enjoy the NV24 HD's high-definition video on an HDTV television, consumers simply dock the camera into a proprietary Samsung HDMI CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) cradle (sold separately). Just to add a few extra words to all the other reviews... A beautiful camera, nice to use, takes quite good pictures. It's not good without flash at low light levels, but what do you expect with a lens this size!
The VIDEO picture quality is just FANTASTIC; however, the camera has a cooling system which makes a slight noise, and the mic picks up this sound (you cannot of course plug in an external mic). The sound is otherwise very good so it's a shame there's this slight irritating flaw.

This surely is a feature packed camera and if bought now can be considered to be a real bargain. It does need a bit of tinkering though to get the best image quality (P mode with -1/3 exposure and +1 color saturation) but once adjusted image quality is generally very good up to iso 400. Images recorded above iso 800 will have noticeable noise in them which is not surprising given the tiny sensor. The menu system is a bit unusual but makes navigation actually very simple. Apart from a true wide angle lense Samsung also threw in HD video recording capabilitiy for good measure and yes the movies will be compatible with imovie 09. Apart from that if there are any problems Samsung customer service is second to none.

It is simple to use and offers outstanding picture quality. The black & white mode is excellent, and it takes great pictures even in low light.

This camera is bursting with features like a wide angle lens, touch screen and HD video recording however more importantly what was the picture quality like? I tend to take allot of pictures indoors and this is why I was a little sceptical about purchasing this camera as I was finding mixed reviews on indoor shooting. Unfortunately my fears were correct and results were poor in low light conditions. There was alot of noise at higher iso settings and no luck in auto mode. Pictures were grainy and dark. I also struggled to get blur free images of my daughter who is a little active! However I had no problem with my Fuji f31fd. However despite this the camera does deserve some credit as it worked well in a more lit room and fine outdoors. In the end i had to return it due to a fault.
